Why this matters

Around 20 million people in the United States live with autoimmune diagnoses.

Autoimmune diseases are one of the most common and fast-growing groups of chronic conditions. They include psoriasis, type 1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, celiac disease, and many other conditions. For many people, nutrition is a key part of daily self-management, but it requires constant adaptation and careful attention.

Problem

Dietary guidance is often difficult to translate into real meals.

People with autoimmune and chronic inflammatory symptoms often need to follow strict or highly individualized dietary protocols. In practice, this creates a daily burden: recipes may contain incompatible ingredients, users must manually adapt meals, and mistakes can contribute to symptom flare-ups or reduced quality of life.

Many people also lack a simple digital tool that translates restrictions into practical, everyday meals without adding more cognitive load.

Solution

An AI assistant that turns restrictions into practical meal options.

Autoimmune Meals combines a user health and nutrition profile, structured dietary rules, food and recipe data, and AI-assisted recommendations. Users can generate a daily menu, create individual meals or recipes, replace unsuitable dishes, review ingredients and estimated calories, edit meals manually, and save the final plan.

The system is designed to support dietary planning within defined diet boundaries, including ingredient compatibility, recipe adaptation, meal replacement, and nutrition data such as calories, protein, fats, and carbohydrates.

Responsible AI and safety

Clear boundaries for health-related nutrition support.

Autoimmune Meals is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. The product frames outputs as meal-planning assistance and keeps the user in control through review, manual editing, and professional-guidance disclaimers.

The long-term direction includes expert review of diet rules, safer prompt design, validation with users and domain specialists, and clearer accessibility guidance.

Community direction

Beyond planning: support, shared experience, and patient-reported insight.

In the long term, Autoimmune Meals can become a support platform that connects people with similar diagnoses, symptoms, dietary protocols, and daily challenges. A community layer can reduce isolation, support motivation, and help users exchange practical experience.

With appropriate privacy, consent, and responsible research practices, the platform may also help collect real patient-reported feedback about food reactions, adherence barriers, and perceived outcomes. These insights can support future collaboration with clinicians, dietitians, researchers, and patient communities.
